ABOUT US
To protect the interests of all high security water users in the Murrumbidgee Valley is the charter of the newly formed organisation –High Security Irrigators Murrumbidgee Inc.
High Security Irrigators Murrumbidgee Inc is a not-for-profit organisation, which has formed from the former Murrumbidgee Horticulture Council. Membership is open to all users of high security water from individuals, both small and large, as well as corporate users. Associate membership with non-voting rights, is open to commodity groups, councils and other interested persons.
The mission of High Security Irrigators Murrumbidgee is to provide a forum for the co-operative advancement of the interests of all High Security water users in the Murrumbidgee Valley.
The organisation is funded by voluntary irrigator membership, commercial activities such as the provision of water brokerage services and the management of industry R&D and other types of projects.
The core business of High Security Irrigators Murrumbidgee is representing, promoting and defending the interests and rights of high security water users in areas of water policy and trade, water efficiency and technology, economic and environmental sustainability, and land use interface. The organisation will also develop and provide opportunities for training and mentoring of its members.
One of our key aims is be a supportive and united peak body that governments and growers will use to resolve issues and assist in developing a policy framework for the industry. To achieve this aim High Security Irrigators Murrumbidgee will be proactive and reactive in policy development at local, state and federal levels. We are members of both the NSW Irrigators Council and the National Irrigators Council.
High Security Irrigators Murrumbidgee has a staff of four, with the day to day running of the organisation shared between the Business Manager, Lindy Golden and the Corporate Affairs Manager, Roger Hoare.
A management committee is responsible for the organisation and manages senior staff.
